French giants ahead of Reds and LA Galaxy for Cole.
Former Chelsea and Arsenal star Ashley Cole, who recently ran down his contract at Stamford Bridge could be moving abroad to play for French cash-rich giants Monaco, reports the Daily Express.
The 33-year old former England international had hinted towards the end of last season that he does not expect to continue with the Blues, and Monaco have emerged as the bookmakers’ favourites to land him.
While Liverpool and MLS side LA Galaxy have also shown interest in signing Cole, the bookmakers have placed them at 7/2 and 6/1 respectively, while Monaco are clear favourites at 8/11 to land the experienced left-back.
Chelsea meanwhile, are looking to march ahead by replacing Cole with Atletico Madrid’s 28-year old left-back Filipe Luis, who impressed Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho with his admirable work rate last season.
Filipe is set to complete a £15 million move to Stamford Bridge soon, and is widely believed to be a shrewd acquisition for the Blues.
