La Liga strike over: Barcelona & Real Madrid can now compete for title
They defeated Atlético Madrid, 1-0, in the La Liga championship, which marked their fifth in the last seven years and their seventh in the last 11 years.
Messi is widely known as arguably the best football player in the world, and he has backed that claim up by scoring a whopping 54 goals in 54 games with Barcelona.
Despite Messi’s and his team’s success, he expects more from his perpetually elite team as they still have more work to do.
Barcelona now has their sights set on the Copa del Rey final, which is set to take place on May 30 against Athletic Bilbao.
They are also set to face Juventus in the Champions League on June 6.
In addition to these matches, the stakes are high for Barcelona since they have the opportunity to win their second European treble in the last six years.
