Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger famously tried and failed to sign Lionel Messi before the Argentina superstar become one of the best players of all time at Barcelona.
It is unlikely that the 27-year-old regrets not joining the Gunners. After all, he has won seven La Liga titles, four Champions Leagues, three Copa de Reys and two FIFA Club World Cups with Barca.
However, Messi was recently asked what his career might have been like had he moved to North London.

Shortlist.com posed the question “Arsenal tried to sign you when you were young. What sort of player would you have become in the Premier League?”
Messi replied: “It is hard to say, because my education would have been very different to what I have had at Barcelona, but the Premier League is obviously one of the best and most competitive in Europe.”
The next question was “What do you like or dislike about playing English or Scottish clubs in the Champions League?”
Messi said: “Nothing at all. They are always big games against English clubs, and Celtic is always a pleasure to play at because their fans create one of the most special atmospheres.”
Arsenal fans must hate the sight of Messi now – he has scored six goals in four games against the Gunners.
