25′: North try from nothing.
With 25 minutes on the clock, Berrick Barnes put up a high ball from his 22, but put a little bit too much on it. The threat appeared minimal until George North galloped forward and snatched the ball out of the night sky on the half-way line. He beat the first line of defence, put in a sublime side-step to bamboozle Barnes, and won the foot race against Genia to score in the corner; an excellent solo effort that put the Lions 10-7 ahead. This handed the momentum back to the Lions after Folau’s earlier try, and the sea of Red in the stands roared louder than ever. From this point onwards, the Lions were always in the lead.
