Pakistan host Australia in UAE in the first of three one-day internationals between the two sides in this series.
Spin is expected to play a big part in Sharjah and the home side are currently having to cope without their leader in that department Saeed Ajmal.
The bowler has been suspended for a suspect action – an issue that was picked up during the August tour of Sri Lanka.
Instead Raza Hasan and Zulfiqur Babar will lead the attack for the Pakistanis as they also did against the Aussies during a lone Twenty20 international fixture on Sunday.
Misbah-ul Haq’s side lost that match by six wickets and will be looking to bounce back from defeat as soon as possible, but will have to do so without Mohammed Hafeez as well who has a hand injury.
The Australians have several injuries of their own however, with Michael Clarke, Shane Watson and Mitchell Marsh all missing out.
In the absence of Clarke T20 skipper George Bailey will captain the team, looking to win the fourth ODI series in a row against this opposition, which dates back to 2009.
