It’s the second one-day international of the series between Pakistan and Australia with the tourists taking a 1-0 lead into this match after a 93-run victory on Tuesday.
The hosts’ batsmen have struggled for form in both the opening ODI and the Twenty20 loss to the same opponents last Sunday.
Both coach Waqar Younis and captain Misbah-ul Haq have called for improvement, but in the last two years there has been just one century stand in the top order in 50-over cricket.
The same cannot be said for the Aussies however, who even in the slow and dry conditions of the UAE have adapted extremely well, with David Warner impressing and Steve Smith looking sharp in his new No.3 role.
Misbah may look to bring in some new batting options, although his choices are limited with the out of form Sohaib Maqsood and Umar Amin and the inexperienced Sami Aslam the only available candidates.
The Australians look settled without the experience of Michael Clarke, Shane Watson and Mitchell Marsh, although there are hints spinner Xavier Doherty could be drafted in.
