The England right-back has signed a five-year contract with the Reds, joining them for a transfer fee of £12.5m.
Since Glen Johnson left when his contract expired, the No. 2 jersey became available and Clyne will fill it.
Roberto Firmino, who is arriving in a £29m move from Hoffenheim this summer, will be wearing the No. 11 jersey.
The No.11 jersey does have some history, with previous owners including Robbie Fowler, Vladimir Smicer and Jamie Redknapp.
While Steven Gerrard is leaving the Reds for the MLS, James Milner will take over his position, but not his number. Since he won’t take the Reds legend’s jersey, the English ace will wear No. 7, made famous by Kenny Dalgish and Luis Suarez.
Lastly, the other new arrival Adam Bogdan will most likely take the No.1 jersey, unless Simon Mignolet, for some reason, makes a request to change from No. 22.
Joe Gomez is unlikely to get a significant squad number this season, as he will most probably spend the majority of the campaign in the reserves.
