Sunday’s Premier League defeat to Crystal Palace just compounded more misery on Brendan Rodgers and his side and the Northern Irishman is hoping to use the January transfer window to help turn things around.
Chelsea’s Cech has been identified as the ideal purchase to replace the increasingly erratic Simon Mignolet as goalkeeper, with the Czech Republic international understood to be available for around £7m.
Meanwhile with new signings Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert failing to impress and Daniel Sturridge perennially injured, a new striker is needed to ease the pressure upfront.
Martinez has been impressing at FC Porto ever since first joining the club back in 2012 and as a result is expected to cost around £30m.
Finally Norwich City youngster Redmond is thought to be valued at around £10m by the Championship club with the Englishman tipped for big things in the future.
