Milan are said to be ready to pay around £13m to bring the former Torino star back to Serie A, while Liverpool are also described as being admirers of his ability.
Still, Immobile has not had the best of times since moving to Germany, scoring just four Bundesliga goals all season long and managing just ten in all competitions for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
This unconvincing form in front of goal may have persuaded Dortmund to let the player go at the end of this season, and it is questionable as to whether Liverpool should really be targeting a player of this calibre or aiming higher.
Brendan Rodgers is understandably eyeing Immobile as an option upfront after finding his side short of options in that department this season, but his goal record for Dortmund suggests he is not the player to fill the boots of Luis Suarez.
