5. Steven Gerrard
The England skipper has been an impressive influence for both his club side, Liverpool, and his country for well over a decade now.
Whilst he has not been able to take the Three Lions into the latter stages of major tournaments, he is often one of their best performers on the biggest stages.
Only four men have scored more goals at World Cups for England than Gerrard and he could well get himself ahead of the likes of Bobby Charlton and Michael Owen this summer.
