Many would consider Philipp Lahm to be the best full-back on the planet, capable of playing on either side of the defence and in midfield as well.
He has captained the team since the 2010 World Cup and at 30-years-old he is set to do so for many more years to come.
Lothar Matthaus has set a huge marker by winning 150 Germany caps, but already with 106 to his name, Lahm could become his country’s record cap-holder over the coming years.
This would throw him into the debate over the greatest German footballer of all time.
