Liverpool have finally agreed to match Sevilla’s £18 million valuation of left-back Alberto Moreno and are now set to land him soon, reports the Daily Express.
The Reds were initially skeptical about spending big on a 21-year old, but with Kop boss Brendan Rodgers keen on a new left-back signing, they have agreed to the fee.
Sevilla’s Sporting Director had earlier ruled out a switch for the Spanish international left-back by stating that negotiations with Liverpool were ‘paralysed’, but Liverpool CEO Ian Ayre has now made a personal visit to Spain to conclude talks over a move to Anfield for Moreno.
Personal terms could be agreed sooner rather than later as Rodgers is keen to make the highly rated youngster his fourth signing of the summer. The Reds need cover in the left-back region with uncertainty over the future of Jose Enrique, and the attack-minded Moreno would fit well into Liverpool’s playing style.
