Liverpool are being linked with the world class German forward.
The Daily Mirror reports that German star forward Marco Reus may be in talks with Liverpool over a potential transfer to Anfield this summer.
The rumour comes as a result of the 25-year-old having rejected a new contract offer at Borussia Dortmund.
Reus has been linked with a move away from Dortmund for quite a while now with Manchester United also keen on signing him, but the Reds have emerged as the leading contenders to take him on.
The Germany international missed the 2014 World Cup due to an injury, and was also reportedly overlooked by Barcelona this summer.
The Catalan giants had an agreement to sign him before they chose Liverpool’s Luis Suarez instead.
Reus’ current contract at Dortmund lasts until 2017, but crucially, his release clause reportedly falls to £27 million in 2015, which could force the German giants to sell him this summer if they get a higher offer.
Reus’ agent meanwhile, refused to play down speculation of his potential transfer by saying; “Marco would make any big European team stronger.
“That’s why it’s completely normal that a number of these major European teams are interested in signing him.”
