FC Twente’s Chadli may face choice between Anfield and White Hart Lane.
Liverpool and Tottenham are set to go head-to-head for the signature of FC Twente winger Nacer Chadli, according to talkSPORT.
The 23-year-old Belgium international is wanted by clubs across Europe, after netting 12 league goals last season for the Eredivisie outfit.
European giants Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and Shakhtar Donetsk – all of whom can offer Champions League football next term – are also said to be interested in the former AGOVV Apeldoorn forward, but his agent Daniel Evrard feels his client would prefer a move to the Premier League this summer.
“Nacer wants to play in the Champions League, but he is also attracted by English football. We expect something from this angle,” Evrard told De Telegraaf.
Spurs beat Liverpool to the signings of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Clint Dempsey last season and will be hoping the presence of Chadli’s compatriots Mousa Dembele and Jan Vertonghen in north London will persuade the £8.5m-rated star to opt for White Hart Lane over Anfield.
Chadli has one-year remaining on his current deal and Twente are likely to cash in on him rather than risk losing him for free next summer.
