Hammers have offered £9.5 million for Dnipro winger Konoplyanka.
In an unlikely transfer development, Sam Allardyce’s West Ham United have tabled an unexpected £9.5 million bid for Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur target Yevhen Konoplyanka, reports the Daily Mirror.
The Hammers boss is hoping to improve the style of football played at Upton Park by bringing in more technically sound footballers, which has prompted this rather surprise bid for the Ukrainian winger who was not so long ago, a prime transfer target for Liverpool and Tottenham.
Reports suggest though that West Ham have bid £2.5 million less than Konoplyanka’s release clause amount, and it remains to be seen whether they can spring a surprise by sealing a cut price deal for the Dnipro man.
Manchester United too held an interest in the 24-year old for a brief while, and it would be intriguing to see whether Konoplyanka is so desperate to make it to the Premier League that he would join a team from the bottom half of the league as opposed to a side that would challenge for top honours.
