Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers was targeted from the sky by angry Reds supporters calling for him to be sacked ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Queens Park Rangers.
Disgruntled fans clubbed together to pay for a plane to fly above Anfield, towing a banner carrying the message: “RODGERS OUT, RAFA IN”.
Rodgers is nowhere near as popular as he was last season, after seeing his side lose an FA Cup semi-final to Aston Villa, before suffering a 1-0 defeat at Hull City to effectively end all hopes of a top-four finish.
Wanting Rodgers out is one thing, but would former boss Rafael Benitez really do a better job?
Yes, the affable Spaniard masterminded Liverpool’s famous Champions League victory in 2005, but he has not won a domestic league title since 2004.
Benitez is currently in charge of Napoli.
