According to Sky Sports, the two clubs have now reached an agreement over the transfer and now all that is left is for personal terms to be settled on and for the Belgian striker to pass his medical.
The 24-year-old’s release clause fee of £32.5m was met on Thursday, and he is now expected to undergo a medical with the Reds on Tuesday morning.
However, it is noted that the deal will not be completed in time in order for Benteke to join the club on their pre-season tour of Australia.
Benteke scored 49 goals in 101 appearances for Villa since joining from Genk in a £7m deal in 2012.
The Belgian ace will now hope to add a new dynamic to the Liverpool line-up, as manager Brendan Rodgers has been forced into a re-think since the sale of Raheem Sterling to Man City.
