A goal from England striker Daniel Sturridge helped the Reds to an opening day victory against Stoke…
Liverpool beat Stoke 1-0 in the opening match of the Premier League season…

Liverpool dominated Stoke and full deserved the victory, although it appeared the visitors would rescue a point when they were awarded a penalty late one. However, new signing Simon Mignolet made himself a Kop favourite on his debut by keeping out Jon Walter’s scuffed effort.
