Centre-backs – Martin Skrtel and Mamadou Sakho
It is little surprise to see Skrtel make the team, but it is a little unexpected that Sakho is rated as highly as the long-serving Slovakian at 81, with better strength, pace and passing stats.
Dejan Lovren, who has started every Premier League game for Liverpool this term, is two short of the first-choice pairing at 79, while the ageing Kolo Toure is fortunate to still be rated as highly as 78.
Full-backs – Nathaniel Clyne and Alberto Moreno
Clyne is one summer signing who walks into both Rodgers’s and the virtual Liverpool team. He has an 81 rating, with the injured Jon Flanagan, only two years his junior, a substantial nine points back.
Teenager Joe Gomez has been Liverpool’s left-back so far this season, but, in a poor oversight by EA Sports, isn’t even in the Reds squad for the FIFA 16 demo. Alberto Moreno (79) has great pace and dribbling skills for a defender, with forgotten man Jose Enrique (77) a solid, but overrated deputy.
