Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers reportedly has Tottenham Hotspurs midfielder Nabil Bentaleb in his sights amid talks between the midfielder and the Spurs continue.
According to The Sun via GiveMeSport.com, Rodgers sees Bentaleb as a potential addition to his first-team squad next season and plans to meet with Spurs management to discuss the valuation of the 20-year-old Algerian midfielder.
Bentaleb is coming off two impressive seasons with Tottenham that have led to the club and has grown into a star in a mere 18 months since being given a shot as a teenager by former manager Tim Sherwood.
But while Bentaleb’s teammates Harry Kane and fellow academy graduate Ryan Mason both received rich new contracts after their breakouts seasons this past year, Bentaleb is still waiting for a new deal.
