The 18-year-old shot stopper will spend a week at the Merseysiders’ Melwood training complex with a view to signing for the Reds in a deal worth a possible £1 million.
Hansen was found by Liverpool’s head of scouting Dave Fallows, who has personally recommended the keeper to manager Brendan Rodgers.
And, the player fits in with the club’s new transfer philosophy of identifying and then signing the best young talent around the world.
Meanwhile, Hansen himself is simply looking forward to the week on Merseyside and trying his best to impress those at Anfield, hoping to seal a dream move to the Premier League in the process.
“I look forward to trying to impress,” he told Viborg’s official website.
“It will be a great experience.”
