With Theo Walcott stalling over a new contract with Arsenal and Raheem Sterling stalling over a new contract with Liverpool, there could be a shock move that sees Walcott head north to Anfield in the summer.
Walcott – a lifelong Liverpool fan – has long been admired by Rodgers, and could see a move to Merseyside as an ideal tonic to restart his career after he’s found opportunities limited at the Gunners since his return from injury.
Both players only have 15 months left on their current deals, and were both recently named in Roy Hodgson’s latest England squad.
Liverpool face Man Utd at Anfield this weekend, while Arsenal welcome Newcastle Utd to London.
