Ulisse Savini revealed that a sale isn’t likely given that the Italian outfit want to keep the youngster, but they will assess their options if he doesn’t receive more playing time.
“Liverpool have a manager who relishes attacking players like Keita. It is a destination we would like, but we have to verify a series of situations. So far I have not had any direct contact with Liverpool,” Savini said, Football Italia reported.
Lazio will be playing in the Champions League next season, and although they would prefer to keep the 20-year-old, they will likely find a replacement if they decide that it is best to move him on.
Inter are also understood to be in the race to sign the promising youngster, although Savini conceded that the Nerazzurri are probably looking at other options.
As a result, it leaves the door open for Brendan Rodgers to make his move, but much depends on if Savini is right and that the Liverpool boss is in the market for such a player.
