Liverpool are said to be in advanced talks over a £14.3m double swoop to sign both Alex Song and Eder Balanta, according to CaughtOffside.
The Reds have had a busy summer in the transfer market so far, and look set to end on a high as well with two exciting new additions in midfield and defence for a bargain fee of just £14.3m in total.
Former Arsenal star Alex Song is close to completing a move to Anfield after a difficult two years at Barcelona, and should sign for £10m despite initial rumours of a loan deal in place for the Cameroon international.
Meanwhile, Colombian youngster Eder Balanta should arrive in defence for just £4.3m and replace the departing Daniel Agger, who has fallen out of favour with manager Brendan Rodgers in recent times.
The 21-year-old is a superb defensive prospect and could help shore up the club’s backline after a poor defensive record last season and a difficult start to the new campaign.
