Liverpool remain keen to complete a deal for Real Madrid speedster Denis Cheryshev, according to reports.
Cheryshev has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months, and it is believed Arsenal have also shown interest in the Russian international.
However, Spanish website Fichajes reports Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to sign the winger to help cover the loss of Raheem Sterling following his £44m move to Manchester City.
Cheryshev is yet to make a La Liga appearance for the club and spent last season on loan with Villarreal, where he scored four goals in 26 appearances.
The 24-year-old is reportedly keen to make a push for a place in his side’s EURO 2016 squad should the Eastern European giants qualify for the tournament in France.
He needs first team minutes to catch the eye of Fabio Capello, and a move to the Premier League could see him on the plane to France next summer.
According to the report, Liverpool would need to stump up a fee of around £14.2m to bring the player to Anfield.
