Liverpool are keen to continue to bolster its attacking depth and are now targeting Lazio forward Keita Balde Diao, according to The Metro.
The 20-year-old forward has spent his last two seasons with the Serie A club, and Lazio president Claudio Lotito will reportedly attempt to convince Keita to stay.
However, Keita has asked to leave Lazio, which opens the door for Liverpool to swoop on the youngster.
Arsenal are also believed to be interested in signing the Senegalese star, however, the Reds are believed to be in pole position in the race for Keita’s signature.
The 20-year-old has already shown potential for growth in his time with Lazio, and has scored six goals in 48 Serie A appearances for the Italian giants.
Liverpool enjoyed a 1-0 win against Stoke City in its opening Premier League clash last Sunday, and face newcomers AFC Bournemouth on Monday.
