Liverpool have agreed a deal to bring Spanish forward Iago Aspas to the club from Celta Vigo.
Liverpool have announced the signing of Iago Aspas from Celta Vigo, with the Spanish forward joining on a long term contract.
25 year-old Aspas today passed a medical at the Reds’ training ground at Melwood, and will join up with the Merseyside giants as soon as he receives international clearance.
Aspas performed well for Celta Vigo last term, scoring twelve goals and supplying seven assists in 34 appearances in La Liga for the relegation battlers.
He has a good chance of adapting quickly to the Premier League this coming season, as he is a stronger player than he looks physically, meaning he ought to be able to cope with the demands of the English top flight.
A good passer with great vision, Aspas possesses a powerful shot and likes to take aim from outside the area.
He also offers decent pace to the team, which coupled with his clever ability to find space makes him a valuable option on the counter attack.
Until the transfer window closes, it is unknown whether he has been bought to complement Luis Suarez or replace him.
The Uruguayan has signalled his intent to leave Liverpool this summer.
