Rodgers had been in charge at Anfield since 2012, but disappointing results this season were enough for the club’s hierarchy to make the decision to search for a fresh start.
Meanwhile, Klopp has been out of the game since leaving Dortmund at the end of last season while Ancelotti has been on a sabbatical after undergoing back surgery earlier this year.
Having turned down former club AC Milan in the summer, as reported by ESPN FC, it is unlikely that the Italian tactician will be keen on a return to football this year. As a result, that may well mean that Klopp emerges as the favourite to take the hotseat on Merseyside.
Nevertheless, nothing has been confirmed as of yet and it remains to be seen who the Premier League giants appoint in the coming days with the international break providing them with an opportunity to allow their new coach to settle.
