The 20-year-old has been linked with a whole host of top clubs in recent times and is currently said to be in the middle of a three-way battle between Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea.
With unsettled Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale also on those clubs’ agendas this summer, it looks like Sterling could be a priority target as he may move for around £50m and have wages perhaps half of what the Wales international would expect to earn.
It also seems Liverpool could be ready to accept that they face an uphill struggle to persuade the England international to remain at the club, and would even consider selling to bitter rivals United if the right offer came along.
