Liverpool have agreed a deal for Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke and the transfer could go through today, according to reports.
The Belgian international wants to leave Villa Park this summer in order to enhance his Champions League aspirations and had also been linked with Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
But talkSPORT claim that the Reds have won the race for the 24-year-old, who scored 13 Premier League goals last season, and that an announcement could be made in the “not too distant future”.

Benteke has a £32.5m release clause in his contract. Liverpool apparently baulked at this figure initially, but have reignited their interest in the target man after seeing top target Carlos Bacca choose AC Milan.
He would become Brendan Rodgers’ seventh signing of the summer after James Milner, Danny Ings, Adam Bogdan, Joe Gomez, Roberto Firmino and Nathaniel Clyne.
