Liverpool defender Jose Enrique is among several Reds players who have been left on the outer following a disappointing 2014-15 season.
However, he refuses to leave Anfield and has made a brutal claim against Reds boss Brendan Rodgers.
“I’m in a difficult position. The club have alienated (Mario) Balotelli, (Fabio) Borini and me,” Enrique said, according to the Daily Star.
Balotelli and Borini have also been deemed surplus to requirements and are being shopped around by the Merseyside club.
It remains to be seen whether there is any truth to Enrique’s comment and if he can again break into Liverpool’s starting XI.
The 29-year-old defender has had an overall disappointing four-year stint at Liverpool, as he suffered a serious knee injury a couple of years ago before being pushed down the pecking order at Anfield.
With Joe Gomez and Alberto Moreno battling it out for the left-back spot, Enrique is unlikely to see much first-team action this season and would surely have to consider a move if he indeed wants increased playing time.
