Liverpool are interested in signing Blackpool winger Tom Ince before the January transfer window closes, Sky Sports understands.
Swansea were apparently frontrunners for the pacey winger’s signature, who has been given permission to talk to a number of Premier League clubs including Crystal Palace, Stoke City, Hull and Sunderland.
The news of Ince’s former club Liverpool joining the chase for the 21-year-old could see them installed as favourites, however.
Brendan Rodgers wants to strengthen various areas of his squad, but the wide areas are especially thin in terms of quality options.
Liverpool were heavily linked to Egyptian international Mohamed Salah, who has since joined Chelsea, meaning Ince has become a possible candidate to bolster Rodgers’ attacking options once again.
The youngster never played a game for Liverpool, but has showed his promise during a two-and-a-half year stint at Blackpool, where he’s bagged 35 goals in 122 matches.
Liverpool fans will no doubt be hoping their team sign more established international players, having seen top four rivals Manchester United part with £37m to sign world-class playmaker Juan Mata last week.
