Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has registered a 25-man squad for the group phase of this season’s Europa League.
The headline news is that Spanish left-back Jose Enrique has been left out.
Enrique has not played for the Reds since January, having fallen way down the pecking order at Anfield.
Despite his lack of game time, the 29-year-old, who is reportedly on a £65,000-a-week contract, did not leave Liverpool this summer.
The Europa League was expected to be Enrique’s most likely source of first-team minutes.
However, having been omitted, his Liverpool career looks completely dead.

Meanwhile, Daniel Sturridge has been included in the squad despite his ongoing injury problems.
Striker Sturridge has not featured since April, but he could return in late September.
Liverpool’s opponents in Group B are Rubin Kazan, Bordeaux and Sion.
Full squad: Mignolet, Bogdan, Clyne, Gomez, Toure, Lovren, Moreno, Sakho, Skrtel, Lucas, Henderson, Milner, Can, Allen, Coutinho, Lallana, Firmino, Origi, Ings, Sturridge, Benteke.
