The 19-year-old has impressed with the Premier League outfit this season after being re-called from a loan stint at Derby County, and Reds manager Brendan Rodgers is reportedly keen to tie down the skilful attacker despite his recent off-field antics.
Ibe was pictured holding shisha pipes alongside Liverpool teammate Raheem Sterling, however The Independent reports that the club is confident of locking-in the England youth international on a five-season deal.
The technically-gifted winger has a year left to run on his current contract, but the Reds will be looking to keep hold of one its most promising youngsters and stop the possibility of him becoming a free agent at the end of the 2015/16 season.
A new deal for Ibe will come as a massive boost for Brendan Rogers’ side, who will be keen to end speculation surrounding his future at the club.
According to The Indepedent report, Liverpool are set to announce a five-year contract extension for Jordan Henderson on Thursday.
Henderson has yet again proved to be one of Liverpool’s most consistent players in what has been a disappointing season for the Reds, and there’s no doubt the England star will become one of the side’s most prominent leaders in the absence of Steven Gerrard.
