Liverpool could agree a deal for Manchester City star after they signed Bacary Sagna from Arsenal.
Liverpool are set to make an official enquiry for Manchester City’s injury prone right-back Micah Richards, reports the Daily Star.
The 25-year old has long been on the wish list of Reds boss Brendan Rodgers, who wants to have more options in the full-back areas.
Richards, who has been at Man City since his childhood days, has not had a great time of late at the Etihad Stadium, and wants to start afresh with a change in scenario.
The fact that Manchester City have recently signed Arsenal right-back ace Bacary Sagna now opens the door for Richards to move out of the Etihad, and Liverpool are ahead of the pack in his chase.
The Reds are hopeful that a £7 million bid for the England international could suffice since he has only one more year left on his current deal with the Citizens, and thus will be confident of landing him as a competition to 29-year old Glen Johnson this summer.
Liverpool know that they could be a taking a huge gamble on the injury stricken defender though, and will have a tough task to keep him fit at Anfield.
