Arsenal transfer news
Jenkinson has been on loan at Upton Park this season, making 29 appearances in all competitions. The 23-year-old joined the Gunners for just £1m in 2011 after impressing with Charlton Athletic but has found himself surplus to requirements after a number of other arrivals.
It is thought that the £7m-rated star could replace Glen Johnson, who is out of contract at the end of the season. Hector Bellerin and Mathieu Debuchy are currently ahead of him in the Emirates Stadium pecking order and that means he could be allowed to leave.
West Ham want Jenkinson on a permanent deal but competition from a team likely to be playing European football, albeit in the Europa League next season, is likely to make it difficult for Sam Allardyce’s side to get their man.
The one-time England international has played 57 times in all competitions for Arsenal, scoring once.
