Liverpool have reportedly jumped to the front of the queue to sign Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko.
The France international is understood to be open to a move away from St James’ Park as he seeks to test himself at a bigger club.
Arsenal and Manchester United have both been credited with an interest in the 25-year-old as they aim to bolster their midfield options.

But the Daily Express makes Liverpool favourites to sign Sissoko and reports that they have launched an official bid.
Brendan Rodgers is looking for a new driving force in the centre of the park after the departure of inspirational skipper Steven Gerrard.
Paris Saint-Germain’s Yohan Cabaye, Roma’s Miralem Pjanic and Inter Milan’s Mateo Kovacic have also been tipped as options, but Sissoko is now said to be Rodgers’s first choice.
Newcastle are already lining up replacements for the midfield powerhouse and are apparently close to signing PSV Eindhoven’s Georginio Wijnaldum.
