Reds worried that England star could follow Mauricio Pochettino to North London.
Liverpool are fearful that Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino could see Adam Lallana end up at White Hart Lane, according to the Daily Star.
Lallana appears to be Liverpool’s top transfer target this summer, with the Reds reportedly willing to part with £25m to land the World Cup-bound England midfielder.
Pochettino is the bookmakers’ favourite to replace Tim Sherwood, who was sacked as Spurs head coach on Tuesday.
Lallana and Pochettino are believed to get on very well. The 26-year-old featured in every one of Southampton’s 38 Premier League games this season.
Tottenham are said to be hopeful that Pochettino will be able to convince Lallana to follow him to North London, should the Argentine opt for a switch to Spurs.
Lallana scored nine goals and provided six assists in the league this term.
He has four years left to run on his current contract at Southampton.
