Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli will reject a move back to the Serie A in order to pick up a six-figure loyalty bonus, according to reports.
The Italian international has been banished from the first team squad by Reds boss Brendan Rodgers after being told he was surplus to requirements at Anfield.
According to The Mirror, Balotelli will be awarded a big loyalty bonus should he remain at the club following the end of the transfer window.
Liverpool are believed to be keen to offload the enigmatic attacker and it is reported the Reds are willing to pay 60% of the player’s wages if he is to go out on loan.
Lazio and Sampdoria have been linked with moves for Balotelli, but it seems the former Inter, Manchester City and AC Milan man is keen to remain at Anfield.
Balotelli failed to make an impact in his debut season with Liverpool, scoring just one Premier League goal in 16 appearances.
