Balotelli, Fabio Borini and Jose Enrique will be left behind as the Reds head off with a 30-man party for Thailand on Sunday.
While Balotelli’s initial absence from pre-season training was down to a family bereavement after his adoptive father, Francesco, died, questions have been asked about his physical status given that he has fallen behind his teammates early.
However, this latest snub has been put down to a selection decision, although the trio have reportedly been made aware that they are free to find another club and will be sold if a suitable offer arrives, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The former Manchester City striker has struggled since arriving at Anfield from Milan last year, and with Brendan Rodgers looking to strengthen his squad this summer, it appears as though the writing is on the wall for the Italian international.
Balotelli has never been able to settle at any club throughout his career, with many questioning whether or not he will ever be able to live up to his potential particularly after his failed stint with the Rossoneri, the club he supported as a child.
