Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli has been offered a fresh start, but Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero wants a reduction on his price-tag first.
Balotelli has struggled since arriving at Anfield, scoring just one Premier League last season as he was handed limited opportunities.

Following the arrivals of Roberto Firmino and Christian Benteke this summer, it is likely that his first-team chances will be reduced further. As a result, he may well be looking for an exit in the coming weeks.
Sampdoria have previously been linked with a move, and Ferrero discussed the Italian international again at the Serie A fixture list presentation.
“Balotelli costs €10m, but with a discount we await him with open arms,” he told reporters, according to Football Italia.
His statement would suggest that he has been in contact with Liverpool in order to reach the €10m figure, which would be half of what the Reds paid to sign the former Milan striker a year ago.
It is unclear at this stage as to whether or not Brendan Rodgers will sell Balotelli, although he has remained non-committal on his future throughout the summer.
