Liverpool are set to part ways with forward Fabio Borini after unsuccessful stint at Anfield.
According to the Daily Mirror, the Italian international is set for a move to Serie A side Fiorentina after failing to make an impact with the Merseyside club.
Fiorentina will not easily be able to land the 24-year-old forward though. They are facing competition from fellow Serie A clubs Inter Milan and Lazio.
According to the report, Fiorentina director Daniele Prade confirmed that his team is interested in taking Borini off Liverpool’s hands.
Despite his disappointing season with Liverpool, Borini has flashed upside in previous stints.
He scored 10 goals in a loan season with Roma before scoring another 10 with Sunderland in a separate loan stint.
However, Borini has managed only three goals in two seasons with Liverpool, indicating that he would be a better fit in Italy.
Borini has dropped even further down the pecking order at Anfield following the off-season signings of Christian Benteke and Danny Ings.
