Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli is undergoing a medical in Italy on Tuesday ahead of his return to Milan.
The Italian international endured a difficult year at Anfield, and manager Brendan Rodgers has been widely criticised for signing him.

Liverpool effectively paid £16m to have Balotelli for a season before now allowing him to return on loan to Milan, although there is no buy-back option in the deal.
Nevertheless, it will be seen as a failure for the Italian to not settle at yet another club, and he has been warned by Milan chiefs that this is his final chance.
Whether or not he reacts positively and has a bounce-back season remains to be seen, but pictures emerged on Tuesday morning of Balotelli arriving at the Rossoneri’s usual medical centre where players undergo their medicals before joining.
The move certainly makes sense for Balotelli as he continues to fall down the pecking order at Liverpool, although he will now have to displace either Carlos Bacca or Luiz Adriano from the starting line-up at San Siro.
Boss Sinisa Mihajlovic has reportedly already warned the 25-year-old, who has responded by insisting that he is ready to work hard and is focused on making this a successful loan spell.
