The Reds could do with an upgrade on the under-performing Simon Mignolet this season, with Cech likely to be available after losing his palce at Chelsea.
The Czech Republic shot-stopper is widely regarded as one of the best in the world in his position, though highly promising youngster Thibaut Courtois is currently ahead of him in the pecking order.
This could see Liverpool move for the 32-year-old, though owner John W Henry wants Rodgers to fund the move with the sales of Glen Johnson and Fabio Borini.
