Roberto Mancini is keen to add a forward to his squad in January and had eyed up Lavezzi, who is believed to be unsettled at the Parc des Princes.
But the Italian giants have also held talks with outcast Gunners star Podolski recently after Arsene Wenger hinted that the Germany star may be allowed to leave on loan in order to get a more regular run of games under his belt.
Lavezzi has refused to travel with the rest of the PSG squad to a winter training camp in Morocco, and could now link up with the Reds for as little as £8m in January.
