Liverpool have reportedly been put on red alert by suggestions that Jakub Blaszczykowski may leave Borussia Dortmund before the close of the summer transfer window.
The winger has been a pivotal figure for Dortmund in recent years but has not featured in any of their first three games of the season under new manager Thomas Tuchel.
According to respected German publication Bild, Real Betis are considering an ambitious swoop for the 29-year-old, but may struggle to match his salary demands.
And that puts his Premier League suitors in pole position. Arsenal have previously been credited with an interest, but talkSPORT understands that Liverpool are the club plotting a move.
The Reds had been tipped to reignite their pursuit of £15m-rated midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and have also been linked with Dortmund’s highly-rated playmaker Marco Reus.
But it seems that Blaszczykowski is the most likely of the trio to swap Signal Iduna Park for Anfield before Tuesday’s 6pm transfer deadline.
