The father of Tiago Ilori has revealed that the Portuguese centre-back is in talks over a new contract at Liverpool.
The 22-year-old joined the Reds from Sporting Lisbon in 2013 but is yet to make a first-team appearance.
But he has had loan spells at Granada and Bordeaux and also been a regular in Portugal’s Under-21 squad, featuring in their Euro 2015 victory over England in which he joined a select group of defenders to stop Harry Kane from scoring this season.

He will now be given a chance to prove that he is Premier League material during Liverpool’s pre-season.
“We talked last week about the future of Tiago,” Kola Ilori told the Daily Mail. “They say he will have a chance and will go on the pre-season tour of Thailand. There are other clubs interested, like Sunderland, but Sunderland is a very cold city.”
Ilori’s Portugal will advance to the quarter-finals of Euro 2015 with victory over Sweden on Wednesday.
