Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana could reportedly be out for around a month with a thigh injury.
The England international will not feature in Liverpool’s trip to Arsenal tonight, and is also expected to miss the matches against West Ham United and Manchester United.
The 27-year-old is therefore also unlikely to be in the Three Lions squad for the Euro 2016 qualifying double header against San Marino and Switzerland next month.
Lallana’s Anfield career has been blighted by injuries since his £25m arrival from Southampton last summer. He missed the whole of pre-season in 2014 due to a knee problem, and returned to the treatment room several times later in the campaign due to a series of niggles.
Reds captain Jordan Henderson is also a major doubt for the game at the Emirates Stadium this evening, meaning that both Emre Can and £29m buy Roberto Firmino could make their first starts of the season.
