The former Saints star was forced to be replaced by Mamadou Sakho after picking up a groin injury during the 3-1 victory over Championship high flyers Bournemouth in the Capital One Cup.
It was the sole negative on a night where Liverpool won 3-1 to book a Capital One Cup semi-final tie with Chelsea.

“He had a little sort of nick in his groin and we will see how that is.”
