Chile international is struggling at present to get into the Barca starting line-up.
Premier League club Liverpool could be set for a summer swoop for highly rated FC Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez, according to reports on talkSPORT.co.uk.
The much coveted Chile international is currently enduring an up and down campaign at the Camp Nou, having started just the nine matches for the Catalan giants so far this season and scoring only one goal in the process.
However, the exciting winger is still highly regarded across the Continent, with the likes of Serie A title holders Juventus and high flying Napoli both also interested in signing the player should the La Liga leaders make him available for transfer come the end of the current season.
With the 24 year old having only arrived at Barca in July 2011 from Serie A outfit Udinese in a deal worth a reported £23 million, there is still some doubt as to whether Barcelona would actually be willing to part company with Alexis.
The playmaker has a contract with the Spanish giants that currently runs until 2016 and so any move for Alexis would be sure to involve a hefty transfer fee – something that will no doubt prove to be quite a stumbling block for Liverpool.
